Simple Is Better: This unique drilling machine is powered by 2 lawn mower size engines. One gas powered engine drives the drill bit through a 18:1 reduction transmission; the other powers a circulating mud pump.

The test well is to be finished with PVC casing. A simple windmill generator that powers an electric pump will complete the assembly. This demonstration test is very important in proving the feasibility of low cost (shallow, small bore) wells that can be completed for a small fraction of usual well costs.

As quickly as the operation can be tested and debugged, this drilling rig (belonging to CITAM) will be air frieghted to Kenya for immediate use. This equipment is to be shared in Maasai Land, until African Restoration can purchase its own equipment.
